Presenting the Jury of SPIFF competition of films devoted to Women 2020.

Tanya de la Cruz (Spain).

Tanya is an actress who loves the pursuit of becoming bigger than herself every day, like many of us do, and though it’s not something she can say she always achieve, the idea of exploring different crafts helps her in this search of growth.Tanya starred in various television series, soap operas, short films, long feature films and theatre productions in Spain and Colombia. Among them Basque long-running series Goenkale (dir. Jose Mari Goenaga), such films as Fragile (dir. Juanma Bajo Ulloa), Rage (dir. Sebastián Cordero), Killing Time (dir. Antonio Hernandez), Our Old Man and the Sea (dir. Lander Camarero). Tanya’s roots in acting go back to the experience at the XXI Drama Studio Chamber Theatre Company in Colombia, performing in a wide range of plays written by modern and contemporary theatre playwrights such as William Shakespeare, Molière, August Strindberg, Eugene Ionesco and Harold Pinter, amongst others. Tanya also has been part of Theatre Productions such as Women in Bright Red by Edurne Rodriguez, to be played in Spanish and Basque, on tour for two years in Spain; and also Ados Teatroa’s theatre adaptation of Laura Esquivel’s novel and screenplay Like Water to Chocolate. Tanya’s most recent theatre role is Juliet, in an adapted version of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.Tanya enjoy tap dancing, playing the piano, painting, photography, and hope to keep alive this urge to explore love and transformation through scenic experience, and real life.
